7.1 Discovery of the biomagnetic pair

In 1988 Dr. Isaac Goiz Durán attended a conference by Dr. Broeringmeyer which aroused great interest in the subject of biomagnetism, as Dr. Broeringmayer had called his magnet therapy. In a few days, Dr. Goiz got some magnets from useless electronic devices and began to experiment with them. At that time he attended to his patients in his office north of Mexico City, applying various techniques such as acupuncture, physiotherapy among others; magnetism was added to the therapies that he was already applying.
On October 11th, 1988, a patient with a diagnosis of AIDS, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, arrived at Dr. Goiz's office. Through testing with magnets, Dr. Goiz was able to identify the pair thymus (-) - rectum (+). Based on the studies that the patient had, he related the pair to the HIV-AIDS virus. Dr. Goiz had the idea of leaving the magnets on the points of the pair, for a few minutes, thinking that this could help the energy balance of the organs involved. The patient's improvement was immediate, the next day he had stopped suffering from chronic diarrhea and felt much better. The symptoms of AIDS subsided and the patient regained health. Over time, and hundreds of patients treated, Dr. Goiz was able to corroborate that the par thymus - rectum corresponds to HIV-AIDS. The results obtained with the patient cured of AIDS motivated Dr. Goiz to continue experimenting and inquiring about the newly discovered phenomenon. According to Dr. Goiz, the second person treated was his own wife, who suffered from various ailments. Also she had a remarkable recovery from the next day of the session.
The success obtained with this new technique spread from mouth to mouth like wildfire, so that in a few weeks Dr. Goiz's office was visited by a long line of patients who "patiently" waited for consultation; all with great hope that their illnesses and ailments could be cured.

The long hours that Dr. Goiz spent treating patients, as well as his scientific methodology led him, in a short time, to discover a large number of biomagnetic pairs such as: Supraspinatus - supraspinatus, related to the tuberculous microbacterium, or Diaphragm - diaphragm for the Candidiasis; Stomach - Adrenals for Measles, etc. By 1995, when Dr. Goiz wrote the book The biomagnetic pair ¹ , more than 100 pairs had already been identified, for the same number of pathologies.

At first, the pairs corresponded to pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites, but over time pairs appeared that were not necessarily associated with any pathogen. Such is the case of special pairs, which rather correspond to energy imbalances in the body. For example, the Goiz pair was one of the first to be discovered and one that occurs most frequently, it is: parietal (-) - kidney (+).
Currently in the Biomagnetic Guide , in addition to regular pairs - those caused by the presence of pathogens -, we have other types such as special pairs, psycho-emotional, dysfunctional or reservoirs. Each of these groups has very particular aspects that we will continue to deepen throughout the course.
The biomagnetic pair did not stop there, since over time Dr. Goiz discovered phenomena that exceed the explanation of mechanistic science. We refer to testing through mental intention, which allows a testing protocol to be carried out without the need to place the magnet on each spot in order to conduct the test. Later, in 1995, the first case of distant healing occurred with a patient who was in Italy and could be treated from Mexico City by Dr. Goiz. Thus a whole new dimension of action opens up for biomagnetism, which Dr. Goiz has named Bioenergetics. Since to understand Bioenergetics a whole series of principles is required, and as it enables new techniques and tools, we reserve the study of it for an advanced level course.

7.2 Description of the biomagnetic pair

Dr. Isaac Goiz Durán, based on observations of Dr. Richard Broeringmeyer, was able to identify that two points in magnetic resonance are required to support energy imbalance. By magnetic resonance we understand that the two points have the same frequency, electromagnetic intensity, but opposite poles: one is negative and the other positive. So it is understood that both points are, in some way related, forming a single phenomenon: the biomagnetic pair. Based on an empirical method, Dr. Goiz found a way to detect the phenomenon by testing with a negative magnet, scanning the patient's body.

The discovery of the biomagnetic pair in 1988 marked a totally new criterion within biomagnetism itself and medicine in general, by verifying that biomagnetic charges have vibrational and energetic resonance.

The first known biomagnetic pair was that of the human immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), which is generated in the thymus and rectum from the first hours in which the HIV-virus is installed, producing two simultaneous phenomena in the patient's body: immunodeficiency and seropositivity . To date, Dr. Goiz has discovered and fully identified more than 350 biomagnetic pairs ² , which in turn are related to various pathologies of organisms humans. This is how, based on the phenomenon known as Biomagnetic Pair, Dr. Goiz has developed a new type of treatment known as Medical Biomagnetism, which for more than 30 years has been spreading and is currently being applied successfully by thousands of people around the world.
Once we understand the principles and concepts that operate in medical biomagnetism, let's take a closer look at the healing mechanism of the biomagnetic pair.

“The energy imbalance does not manifest itself in a single point of the body, but requires two points that have the same intensity and frequency, but the opposite pole; that is to say, one point of the body is acidified while another is basified. Both points are said to be in magnetic resonance, which is why they form a biomagnetic pair. "

Using the protocol that Dr. Goiz teaches in his medical biomagnetism courses, or the more advanced level called bioenergetics, the therapist first identifies the negative pole, and then looks for the positive pole that makes it energetic resonance. This is how the biomagnetic pair is found, and according to previous experience with that specific pair, the pathogen, dysfunction or special condition that is being treated can be determined.
Once the magnets have been placed in the points corresponding to the biomagnetic pair, they are left for a time that can be, on average, between 10 to 20 minutes. The time varies according to the latitude in which the treatment is carried out. In places close to the Earth's equator, the time tends to decrease to a few minutes. While moving away from the Earth's equator the time is extending up to more than 20 minutes. There is no table to calculate the treatment time since it also depends on other factors, especially the patient's condition, and to a lesser extent on the power of the magnets or the therapist's expertise.
Medical biomagnetism obeys the all or nothing principle. The minimum power that permanent magnets must have is 1500 Gauss; below this range the magnets will have no effect on the body, that is, it will not be possible to restore the energy balance. Using higher power magnets has also been found not to decrease treatment time.
If the pair is well placed it will take effect in a reasonable time. However, if one or both of the magnets are not correctly placed, the energy balance will not be obtained. In these cases the body of the patient usually responds by intelligent muscle response (shortening leg).

Dr. Goiz's technique is based on a complete testing of all the discovered points, in order to identify the biomagnetic pairs that can be applied to the person in that session. In the next section we will see in more detail how to test using intelligent muscle response. As the pairs are identified, the magnets are left in position for as long as necessary (10 to 20 minutes) for the magnetic fields to reestablish the body's energy balance. Once this balance has been achieved, pathogens will no longer find the proper terrain to proliferate and will stop multiplying.
Magnetic fields allow the biological terrain to regain its self-regulating capabilities and to regain its proper pH (± 7.2 for blood, sweat and tears), and the appropriate pH for each of the organs of the human body. Therefore, magnet therapy, applied correctly, works in the same direction as nature, that is, the human organism recovers its capacity for self-regulation and self-elimination of the pathogen agents.

As explained by Dr. Goiz, viruses and fungi proliferate in acidic media. While bacteria and parasites proliferate in alkaline media. Once the organs and tissues return to the normal energy level (NEL), the microbes do not find the favorable terrain to proliferate and lose their pathogenicity. In some cases the results are visible in a matter of hours. Chronic or acute illnesses may take more treatment sessions. As a general rule, the patient should be scheduled the following week to continue with the treatment, but the need and date of a next session is at the discretion of the therapist.

7.3 Muscle testing

Medical biomagnetism is based on intelligent muscle response and can be performed using a muscle testing protocol.
From the beginning of biomagnetism, Dr. Goiz used the intelligent muscle response as a form of diagnosis. He probably learned it from Dr. Broeringmeyer or directly from Dr. Goodheart, who was the discoverer of it when developing kinesiology.
The method used by Dr. Goiz consists of measuring the length of the legs, for which the consultant will have to lie on his back in relaxation, while the therapist takes his ankles and percieves any change in the length of the legs. This operation is repeated while the negative pole of the magnet is placed on each of the anatomical points identified in medical biomagnetism. For which a pre-established testing protocol (list) must be followed, such as the ones you will find in the Biomagnetic Guide . When any point presents an energetic imbalance, the consultant's body will respond by contracting one leg. In this way, each anatomical point is tested. As long as the legs do not change their normal length, it means that the point in question is in balance and you can move on to the next point on the list.
In reality, the body's reaction is not limited to the contraction of the leg, it is a reaction that occurs throughout the physical body and also at the energy level. Dr. Goiz explains that it is always the right hemibody that contracts (or lengthens) in response to the magnetic field, while the left side remains unchanged due to the electromagnetic pulse emitted by the heart.
Muscle contraction that occurs throughout the right hemibody is also accompanied by muscle weakness. Both effects: the shortening and weakening can be perceived in any part of the body, be it the leg, the arm or even the fingers of the hand. From this it follows that there are many ways of doing testing that are preferred by different therapists, depending on how they are more comfortable or easy to identify.

7.4 Other ways of testing

As for the techniques in which the hands are used, the therapist usually uses his own hands to identify the answer, that is, the participation of the patient is not required.

In the fingers of the hands we can also perceive a slight muscle weakness that we can test by forming two rings with the hands, making a minimum pressure with the fingertips, and we pull a bit as if trying to break the rings. If you have an affirmative answer, the ring will break.

We can also make a slight pressure of the middle finger above the index finger and test how far we can lower it.

In the thumb test we do not measure the strength of the fingers, but a slight contraction of the right thumb (a few millimeters).

The arm test is not used in biomagnetism because the person has to stand or sit. A variant is with the person lying down, measure the length of the arms by extending them in front and bringing the hands together.
Remember that all these forms of testing can be practiced on the same patient. When accessing to the bioenergetic level (supraconscious) you can also conduct the test using a third person (antenna); or using the therapist's own hands. (see next section)

7.5 Testing with bioenergetics

At the advanced level of biomagnetism, which Dr. Goiz calls bioenergetics, it is no longer necessary to do a test going through the body with the magnet; It is enough to focus the mind at some point of the body with “mental effort” for the intelligent muscular response to manifest itself. This level leads us to study new concepts such as the supraconscious and opens up a variety of aspects and questions that can be asked, as long as they are made clearly and in such a way that the answer is a "yes" or a "no" .
Bioenergetics also allows the use of other techniques such as the pendulum to carry out the test. Resources and work strategies are greatly expanded when this level of work is accessed.
Anyway, we will deal with this topic extensively in a future advanced course on bioenergetics.
